Player Ratings: Accrington Stanley vs Derby County – FA Cup

The Rams sneaked past Accrington Stanley in the early kick off to join Manchester United in the next round of the cup.

It was a scrappy game littered with fouls and misplaced passes but the woeful playing surface at the Wham Stadium didn’t help.

A second half prod home from Martyn Waghorn settled the game after great work from Holmes but there was plenty of scares late on.

It was a relitavely strong lineup from Lampard but there was a few cameos from the academy kids.

Check out my ratings for the game below:

Roos – 7 – Made some vital saves especially towards the end of the game.

Bogle – 8 – Best I’ve seen him play. Constant threat going forward.

Keogh – 7 – Never mentioned when he doesn’t make a mistake but good today

Tomori – 7 – Showed he can do the grafting side of the game this afternoon.

Malone – 8 – Attacked very well first half.

Mount – 6 – Injured early. Let’s hope nothing serious.

Wilson – 6 – Worked hard but always going to struggle on that pitch against that team

Holmes – 8 – Excelled again. Setup the goal.

Evans – 7 – Slowly becoming impressed with this guy

Waghorn – 7 – Scored the goal and battled well

Nugent – 7 – First time he’s played well for a while. Held ball up well but no clear sign of goal.

Subs:

Bennett – 7 – Direct and made a difference

Jozefzoon – 5 – booked

Bird – 5 – Not enough time to judge
